As busy as we were in May, how could we not support the Desert’s own “Doggy Oskers Show”, the ARF Academy Awards?
The event benefited our beloved Animal Samaritans & was produced by Ms. Gloria McDermott, (aka Liberace’s former personal jeweler and rumor has it, also the designer of his infamous candelabra ring!) To top it off, the fabulously funny JoAnne Worley & the ever-entertaining Zoso Cabaret regulars: Pinkie Meringue Shimmer, Bella Da Ball and Fleet were there to “host-it with the most-it“! Now that’s what I call a great gay ol’ time!
Poor Willis of PAWZ could not attend, (rumor has it, he/she was busy nursing a hangover from throwing a very private birthday party at ACE hotel the night before for a significant “bitch-other” ms. Paula of Digs), but Pawz was there in spirit & donated several gift baskets and auction items for this very worthy charity.

Barkitecture Competition & Auction – a “Fun” Fundraiser for Gilda’s Club.
Willis’s Pet, Suzanne (also the pawprietress of Pawz), was honored to be part of the BARKITECTURE dog house design competition & auction, held at the super cool Ace Hotel in Palm Springs on May 1st 2009 and co hosted by DWELL magazine!. Suzanne of Pawz was an honorary judge, along with many other local designers, artists and architects. Pawz Palm Springs was also the premier vendor for the event and donated 50% of all proceeds to the charity, Gilda’s Club of the desert.
(If you have’nt been there, the Ace Hotel and Spa is one of the coolest and newest hot spots in the desert; Suzanne & her partner “Paula” of DIGS, frequent them often. They are right next to the new Koffi too, the best coffee house in Palm Springs, (though I much prefer the original Koffi next to Pawz of course, because it is by a mini pocket park, thus WAY more fun for dogs!)
